Buffalo Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff turned down an offer to coach Team Canada at the upcoming World Hockey Championship. Ruff, who just completed his 14th season with the Sabres, guided Team Canada to a silver medal at the 2009 worlds. TSN reported that Team Canada officials are formulating a "Plan B" to find a head coach. Kirk Muller of the Carolina Hurricanes and Guy Boucher of the Tampa Bay Lightning have been named assistant coaches. Team Canada will open play in the tournament on May 4 against Slovakia in Helsinki.
