It's been hard to miss it... but there is a huge scandal going on in the sports world today. I haven't really had the time to pay too much attention to it, but then Sean Leahy from Yahoo Sports sent me the following Tweet

Oh boy indeed.

Sorry Jaye Horbay... even though you were just 13 seconds off in your predicition of Dustin Penner's 1st point of the night against the Predators... according to the Official PennerPoint Guidelines... much like Penner's much ballyhooed secondary assist... your t-shirt is being revoked. But we are a fair and balanced blog here at The Royal Half... so we just want to make sure this is official before moving forward with declaring a new winn....OH NEVERMIND.

So congratulations to DaDoozy213, the person who predicted Dustin Penner would score his FIRST point of the night at 13:37 of the 2nd period against the Nashville Predators during Tuesday nights game at Staples Center. Dustin Penner recorded an assist (a primary one even!) on Simon Gagne's goal at 12:33 a mere 64 seconds away from DaDoozy213's prediction.

So don't forget... tonight, PennerPoint is all about picking the time and period that Dustin Penner SCORES AN ACTUAL GOAL. None of this secondary assist that will eventually be taken away ********. So for your chance to win a free t-shirt from The Royal Half Gift Shoppe... simply guess the time and period before the game starts in the comments below or you can reply to me on Twitter with the hashtag #PennerPoint

Dean Lombardi’s damning praise of Dustin Penner

The Royal Half, one of our favorite Los Angeles Kings blogs, is running a contest called "Penner Point."
