Recovering from a shoulder issue, Craig Anderson could have stayed home Wednesday night. Instead, he showed what kind of a teammate he is by standing beside the bench and supporting his fellow Senators in the skills competition.
That, however, could be as close as Anderson gets to the ice for another couple of days.
After Thursday's practice, coach Paul MacLean conceded the possibility his No. 1 goalie will not be available to play Saturday in Montreal.
"He still has some discomfort," said MacLean. "He's being evaluated further. We're going to make a decision either later today or (Friday) morning on whether we need to bring somebody to back up.
"We're going to be patient and evaluate it later today."
MacLean would only say Anderson had problems caused by "the collision (with Milan Michalek) and the shot (by Shea Weber) and the ongoing whatever."
