Found April 23, 2013 on Diehardsport:

Halfway through the second period of the Ottawa Senators-Pittsburgh Penguins game on Monday night, Senators forward Chris Neil absolutely obliterated Penguins defenseman Simon Despres.  Neil was given a two-minute minor for charging on the play, despite the fact that he glided right into Despres.  The only reason this was called a penalty was because of the magnitude of the hit and the fact his arms finished extended.  Despres is listed as 6’4″ 220 lbs, while Neil checks in at 6’1″ 215 lbs, so the refs figured something illegal must have happened for Despres to get run over like this.  Despres would be fine, though he may want to keep his head up next time. Sidney Crosby Should Return for Art Ross Scoring Trophy

Sidney Crosby has been skating in full gear and working out at home.  You can read “They have yet to set a timetable on when Sidney Crosby will return” all over the internet.  It is this simple, Crosby doesn’t have a concussion, he sets his own timetable.  Penguins Evgeni Malkin appeared out of the blue yesterday afternoon and announced he was playing last night, why not...

Jarome Iginla’s Five-Bedroom Calgary Home on Sale for $3.995 Million (Photos)

While there may have been a trade-day mix-up about where Jarome Iginla was headed, there’s no question what city he’s leaving behind. Iginla appears to be ready to part ways with Calgary for good, as he’s put his $3.995 million two-story home with a city view on sale. The 35-year-old Iginla spent his entire 16-year career in Calgary until right before the trade deadline this...

Bylsma Reaches 200

After a hard fought 3-1 victory over the Ottawa Senators on Monday night, Penguins’ Dan Bylsma was the fastest coach in NHL history to reach 200 wins. In 316 games, Bylsma has a record of 200-91-25 in coaching the Pittsburgh Penguins. Although, this is not much of a surprise as you look at his accomplishments [...]

Ottawa Sun reporter argues with Penguins’ Matt Cooke over genitalia

On Monday evening, the Pittsburgh Penguins traveled to Scotiabank Place to take on the Ottawa Senators in their first trip to the Canadian capital since Erik Karlsson’s Achilles tendon was partially severed by Cooke's skate. While the spotlight should’ve been on the Penguins’ 3-1 victory, the main headline became about an interaction between Cooke and Don Brennan, a reporter...

Sens lose to Pens, drop to 8th

The Pittsburgh Penguins extended their winning streak and put a dent in the Ottawa Senators' playoff hopes. Tomas Vokoun made 34 saves to earn his 300th career win and Dustin Jeffrey had a goal and an assist to lead the Penguins to their seventh straight victory, 3-1 over the Senators on Monday night. With the loss, the Senators dropped into eighth place in the Eastern Conference...

Malkin returns but Penguins lose

Thomas Vanek scored twice, Ryan Miller stopped 40 shots and the Buffalo Sabres edged the Pittsburgh Penguins 4-2 on Tuesday night. Steve Ott gave Buffalo the lead for good when he batted a rebound out of the air past Pittsburgh's Marc-Andre Fleury with 2:34 left and Vanek added an empty-netter in the final minute. Jochen Hecht also scored for the Sabres, who never trailed while...

Erik Karlsson Returns?

Erik Karlsson is the best PR tool that the Senators organization is blessed with. When videotape evidence captured the 2012 Norris Trophy winner skating for what was presumably one of the first times since having surgery to repair his Achilles tendon, Ottawa was in the midst of a four-game losing streak that sent them plummeting towards the bottom of the Eastern Conference playoff...

Penguins Thug Matt Cooke Returns to Ottawa

Tonight, the Pittsburgh Penguins travel to Ottawa to play the Senators and this will be the first matchup between the Senators and Penguins since the defenseman Erik Karlsson was injured by a check by Matt Cooke. From reading some of the news articles around the web, it would appear that this is going to be one of those must watch games. One almost has to suspect there will be...

Game 45: Penguins-Senators Recap

The Ottawa Senators were the team with something to play for but you would have never known it by their approach to the game. This contest was just weird. Everything about it. Even down to the pregame. Matt Cooke told an Ottawa reporter that he had no balls so the guy decided to write a…

Ottawa Columnist: Matt Cooke is focused on my Penis

Well the saying " don't tell them dick," just got a new meaning. There is no way we could ever make this up. Don Brennan, who is a complete nutjob, wrote one of the more bizarre columns of all-time shortly after the Penguins beat the Senators. Brennan and his disdain for the Penguins is very well documented.  But even this is a little extreme. Brennan apparenty...

Will Matt Cooke Have A Target On His Back Tonight In Ottawa?

from Don Brennan of the Ottawa Sun, But despite his pleas of innocence afterwards, Cooke has twice been suspended for hits to the head, and he did end the career of Boston Bruins centre (and Orleans native) Marc Savard. He has said he's changed his ways, but not everybody is convinced. In fact, most still see him as one of the sneakiest and dirtiest players in the league...
