Since we have a bulk of time here before this series gets under way, we're gonna look at all facets of the Bruins piece by piece. If you haven't realized it by now, today is the offense. The Bruins' offense is a similar model to the Pens', except they don't have Crosby or Malkin. There isn't a so-called superstar up front for the Bruins, but what the Bruins do have is punch. They bang and bang and bang until the door falls down.   FIVE STATS ABOUT THE BRUINS OFFENSE -- In these playoffs, they are averaging 38.2 shots a game, tops among the 16 playoff teams. They averaged 32.4 shots per game during the regular season. When it comes playoff time, the Bruins know every shot on net is a good shot. The Pens meanwhile averaged 30 shots per game during the regular season and are putting 33.1 pucks on net per game in the playoffs. -- Boston's ratio of 1.35 for 5-on-5 goals for and against is second only to the Pens' 1.43. -- The Bruins are ridiculous in the faceoff circle. They are winning a playoff-leading 57.5% of faceoffs. They led the league in the regular season, as well. The Pens are barely over .500 with a 50.1% faceoff percentage in the playoffs. -- In 5 road games, the Bruins have averaged 3.00 goals per game. The Pens have given up 1.66 goals per game in 6 home games. -- Goals by period: Bruins: FIRST: 5 SECOND: 16 THIRD: 14   Pens: FIRST: 16 SECOND: 19 THIRD: 10   There are names up and down the lineup, just like the Pens.   Head over to PensBurgh to read a little bit more about the Bruins' fourth line. They call themselves the Merlot Line because they don't want to be considered "the 4th line." Really stupid.   WHO TO WATCH FOR THE THREE FACE-OFF AMIGOS Patrice Bergeron is winning 63.5% of his faceoffs. He will be in Crosby's mouth. Right behind Bergeron is Chris Kelly, who is winning 63.4%. Rich Peverley is clicking at 63.0%. If Bylsma decides that faceoffs will be a focal point of this series, expect Jussi Jokinen to play in every game. His 63.9% in the faceoff circle during these playoffs is the only thing the Pens have that is remotely close to the amigos. With Chara lurking on virtually every offensive-zone faceoff, every draw will be life-and-death. DAVID KREJCI This idiot is somehow leading the playoffs in scoring. Horton, Krejci, and Lucic are 1-2-3 in the playoffs when it comes to plus/minus. Say what you want about plus/minus; this line is scoring goals and not letting the opponent score. Pretty simple. BRAD MARCHAND It goes without saying that this guy is a joke. We're pretty sure even Bruins fans don't like the guy. He has a history of doing stupid ****, diving, and goading opponents into penalties. He will be in Malkin's face the entire series. MILAN LUCIC Get ready for Lucic v. Murray. JAROMIR JAGR Got to love this story line. Double J isn't so much a player to watch for as he is just a player to watch. Can't give him any room. Thankfully, Ben Lovejoy is on the other side of the continent. WHO SCARES US TYLER SEGUIN He scored 16 goals during the regular season, which would've put him on pace for 27 in a regular 82-game marathon. But the Amber Alert is out for him in these playoffs, where he has scored only 1 goal in 12 games. If for whatever reason the Pens' line assigned to Seguin's line isn't up to snuff, Seguin may go off. He has 4 points in the playoffs, but 3 of those have come in the Bruins' last two games. We just don't have a good feeling about it. VILLAIN IN WAITING RICH PEVERLEY We don't like his ******** name, and we don't like his ******** face.
