St. Louis Blues forward David Perron had struggled a bit through the team's first four games. Perron's struggles ended on Saturday night as the Blues defeated the Dallas Stars 4-3 thanks to a pair of goals by the talented Canadian playmaker.
With the Blues trailing 2-1 after one period of play, Perron exploded in the second period. Perron's first goal came after some shifty puck-handling resulted in Perron throwing the puck at the net with a wicked quick wrist shot to beat the Dallas goalie. His second goal was also spectacular in the second period's final minute on another lethal wrister to make it 4-2.
While Perron was busy scoring in the second period, he also helped out on the Blues' third goal, receiving an assist on a Chris Stewart goal made it 3-2.
