The blockbuster trade is complete. Loui Eriksson, Matt Fraser, Reilly Smith and Joe Morrow are going to the Bruins for a return of Tyler Seguin, Rich Peverley and low-end defensive prospect Ryan Button.
As tough as it is to see Loui go, this is a fantastic trade for the Stars. They get a young, talented-as-hell center and will be able to move Jamie Benn back to the wing. Seguin is locked in with a cap hit of $5.7 million per year until 2019 and is instantly the No. 1 center on this team.
More analysis of this trade will be provided on Friday after the holiday and some more time to look at the trade. It’s tough not to love this for Dallas though.
