St. Louis Blues goaltender Jaroslav Halak will be in net for Tuesday's home game against the Central Division rival Chicago Blackhawks.

Halak has struggled to a 1-6-0 mark this season with a 3.35 goals-against average. Conversely, backup Brian Elliott has flourished with a 5-1-0 record and a slim 1.72 goals-against average.

"I'm happy I'm getting the start (Tuesday), and I'll just go out there and do my best," Halak told the St. Louis Post-Dispatch. "(New coach Ken Hitchcock) has been around a long time, he's been in the playoffs, he's won a Stanley Cup ... so he knows what it takes. I'm pretty sure he has a lot of good things to bring in the locker room and everybody is excited for a fresh start."

Hitchcock took over the team when the Blues fired coach Davis Payne on Sunday.
