ST. LOUIS -- Don't expect to find Alex Pietrangelo among St. Louis Blues players reporting for training camp today. He won't be there.
The Blues announced today that talks between the Blues and Pietrangelo have broken off and their defenseman will not be on the Blues' roster to start training camp. Players are expected to report today for the opening of camp at noon Thursday at the Scottrade Center.
"Talks between the Blues and Alex's camp have broken off for now and Alex will not be reporting for our camp today," said Doug Armstrong, the Blues' president of hockey operations and general manager.
Pietrangelo is a restricted free agent who had five goals and 19 assists in 47 games last season. The Blues had been hoping to have a new deal in place by the start of training camp.
The Blues expect 53 players to participate in training camp.
