Well, the Toronto Maple Leafs’ points streak is over. The Leafs lost to the Philadelphia Flyers 5-3 tonight. The Flyers were up 4-2 going into the third, and despite a great effort from the Leafs in the final stanza, they could not tie the game and take the loss. The Flyers out-shot the Maple Leafs 31-28. Lupul found himself between Adam Hall and Jay Rosehill and you can see Lupul's head snap back but I don't really see anything flagrant on the play and no penalty was called.
Lupul went to the dressing room and has not returned.
Philadelphia Flyers Postgame Notes – April 4, 2013 Flyers 5, Toronto 3 at Air Canada Centre Jay Rosehill scored his third career NHL goal and first since February 8, 2011. Rosehill and Adam Hall both made their Flyers debut, while Steve Mason dressed as a Flyer for the first time. Luke Schenn had an empty-net [...]
from Roy MacGregor of the Globe and Mail,
Thursday evening, one of the Toronto Maple Leafs’ most exciting players, Joffrey Lupul, woozed and wobbled his way off the ice following a combination collision with two Philadelphia Flyers.
He did not look good. He did not return. He did not practise with the team on Friday. He did not leave with the team for New Jersey. He will...
Coming off their fourth straight victory, third while coming from behind, the Flyers are streaking and overcoming all of their injuries. This hits keep coming, as we found out Zac Rinaldo is out with a high ankle sprain prior to the Toronto game, we now wait to find the status of Kimmo Timonen. The [...]
Wayne Simmonds and Erik Gustafsson scored goals late in the third period to lift the Philadelphia Flyers to a 5-3 win over the Montreal Canadiens on Wednesday night.
The Flyers had been 1-11 when trailing after two periods.
Trailing 3-2, Simmonds tipped in the puck from the crease for the tying goal. Less than 2 minutes later, Gustafsson's pass for Matt Read went off a defenseman...
(photo by Len Redkoles/NHLI via Getty Images) It has been quite blatant that the Philadelphia Flyers’ 8th overall pick in 2011 is suffering from what many call a “sophomore slump”. Sean Couturier netted 13 goals and had 14 assists for a combined total of 27 points in his rookie season. His defensive style of play [...]
Do you believe Flyers fans? The Philadelphia Flyers have somehow found a way to win another tough game, this time in Toronto against the Maple Leafs. Jay Rosehill deflected a Sean Couturier shot past James Reimer giving the Flyers a two goal lead that they wouldn’t relinquish. Early on Simon Gagne deflected in a shot [...]
Photo courtesy of Getty Images The Flyers are alive and swell following a gutsy road win in Toronto last night, their 4th in a row. Standing two points behind the New York Rangers (8th) and three points back of the Islanders (7th) somehow, despite all the struggles, these Flyers are right in thick of the [...]

Loser: Philadelphia Flyers
The Flyers traded Sergei Bobrovsky to Columbus last season – and now Bobrovsky is playing so well, he is a candidate for the Vezina Trophy as the NHL’s best goaltender. One theory: Bobrovsky is playing without the kind of pressure there is in Philadelphia. So now the Flyers have acquired a goaltender from...
Well just hours after the aquisition of Steve Mason as the new backup for Brygalov the high flying Canadiens took on the Flyers at the Wells Fargo Center. High flying is an understatement as the game started with end to end action. The shots were abounding the first 10minutes, 7-6, and with about 6:30 left in the first, the Montreal Canadiens struck first. Alexei Emelin wrists a...
