WILL JEFF CARTER OUTSCORE ANSON CARTER?!?

CARTERGEDDON!!!

I wouldn't say that the LA Kings are feeling pretty solid about their playoff hopes after acquiring Jeff Carter for Jack Johnson... but I saw this billboard on the way into work this morning.

Sure, beating a injured Chicago Blackhawks team 4-0 is one thing. Now let's see how the LA Kings v3.0 do against a really awesome Nashville Predators team that got even awesome-er at the Trade Deadline. And against a Minnesota Wild team... well... that sucks. But they did beat the Sharks Sunday night.

Back Together Again

from Rich Hammond at the website of the LA Kings, The phone calls came exactly eight months apart, but the emotions couldn’t have been any different. Royal Gamble

There’s no doubt the Jeff Carter trade makes the Los Angeles Kings a better hockey team.  Trading for one of the most prolific goal-scorers over the last four seasons is a sure-fire way to upgrade your roster.  The question is, does the trade help the Kings become a Stanley Cup contender? Let’s start with the facts. To describe the Los Angeles offense as anemic is an understatement...

New Kings, or Old Flyers?

With the trade deadline approaching, Los Angeles Kings’ GM Dean Lombardi was under a lot of pressure to make a move and bring more offense to LA. Despite a star studded young roster, the Kings rank last in the NHL in scoring averaging just 2.1 goals per game. The only reason the Kings are still in the playoff race despite the lack of goal scoring is their stingy defense, which...
