TORONTO - NOVEMBER 20: Tuukka Rask #40 of the Boston Bruins warms up as he prepares to play in his first ever NHL game against the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Air Canada Centre November 20, 2007 in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. (Photo by Dave Sandford/Getty Images)
With the (at least temporary) departure of Tim Thomas, Tuukka Rask is making the most of his opportunity to prove he’s a true No. 1 goaltender. The netminder has started five of the Bruins’ first six games this season and has yet to lose, compiling a 4-0-1 record and a very impressive .932 save percentage in the process. Of course, given the Bruins’ tight defensive system, goalies aren’t always tested so regularly, but Rask has shown he’s been more than up to the task when asked to come up with the big save. And, every time he does he quiets more of his preseason doubters. Check out Leah Hextall and WEEI’s DJ Bean break down the Bruins’ early-season success in the video above.
