From NESN:

Tyler Seguin didn’t just score in the shootout for the Bruins on Tuesday night — he scored twice.

After Seguin slotted home his first attempt to start things off for the B’s against the Devils and goalie Johan Hedberg, the referees  made Seguin do it over again. The reason? Someone had thrown something onto the ice while he was in the middle of his shot. Not one to get flustered, Seguin calmly returned to center ice and scored again.

Check it out in the above video, with Jack Edwards and Andy Brickley on the call.

  • What an NHL joke to make a retake if the refs watched the video they could have seen that the goalie never saw the bottle that went behind him until after the goal scored and he saw it off to the side. Seguin was the one who would have been distracted since it would have been in his line of sight

Tyler Seguin’s Shootout Attempt Interrupted by Well-Flung Hot Dog (Video)

That piece of trash that almost took away Tyler Seguin‘s shootout goal on Tuesday night? It turns out it was a hot dog. While many of those watching the end of the Bruins’ solid shootout win over the Devils knew that something got tossed onto the ice when Seguin made his run at the goal, it took the trained professionals to slow down the video enough to glimpse just exactly what...

Tyler Seguin Hopes to Celebrate 21st Birthday With Bruins Win Over Sabres (Video)

On Thursday Tyler Seguin celebrates his 21st birthday, and what better way to enjoy it than with a Bruins win. On Tuesday Seguin had the rare distinction of scoring twice during a shootout against New Jersey — his first goal was waved off after a piece of debris was thrown on the ice. Likewise, on Thursday against the Sabres Seguin expects the same kind of physical, tough game...

Video: Fan throws debris on ice during Boston/New Jersey shootout

Tyler Seguin scored two shootout goals in Boston's 2-1 victory over New Jersey. Unfortunately for Seguin, only one actually counted as the first was waved off after a fan tossed a piece of debris on the ice as he was shooting. While the trash didn't appear to interfere with the play, Seguin had to take his shot over again. He buried it - again - much to the delight of the...

Tyler Seguin’s Birthday Celebration on Twitter Features Olympic Wishes, Emoticons Aplenty (Video)

Tyler Seguin turned 21 on Thursday, and he celebrated by playing against the Buffalo Sabres. He also celebrated with 200,000 or so of his closest friends on Twitter, with hundreds and hundreds of fans sending along well-wishes and the occasional marriage proposal. NESN Nation’s Dan Duquette dove into the Bruins forward’s mentions to find some of the best. Check it out in the...

Tyler Seguin Forced To Shoot Twice In Shootout After Fan Throws Debris On Ice

Some idiot at TD Garden almost cost the Bruins a victory Tuesday night when they threw something (possibly a fan towel from the looks of it) onto the ice during Tyler Seguin’s opening shootout attempt against the Devils. Seguin, who scored on the attempt, was forced to re-do the shot after the refs convened and decided the debris was enough of a distraction to warrant wiping out...

Tyler Seguin Scores Twice In Shootout Due To Fan Throwing A Hot Dog

A.B. Clearly this Bruins or Devils “fan” needs to be banned from the TD Garden for the season, if not for life. But I’m not mad at the drunken bastard. Anytime I get to see Tyler Seguin get an extra shootout attempt is cool with me. If the Seguin didn’t score the second time around, maybe I’d feel differently but he did. So relax Bruins fans, Tyler just got a little more...

PURRGERON REPORT: The Great Sausage Caper

It's been a while since Ace Reporter and DOY GM has made a public appearance. He took an extended vacation during the NHL Lockout and barely gave us the keys to DOY HQ for work. But he's back in town and just in time. Last night some asshat threw debris on the ice during Tyler Seguin's shootout attempt. The reffs ruled that Seguin had to do it again. Luckily...

Sausage Fest

Tuesday night’s shootout victory over the Devils could have ended in horrific fashion for the Bruins. If Seguin wasn't filthy when no one else is on the ice and had missed his “second” breakaway attempt the B’s would have only received one point and lost the game. In a bizarre turn of events a spectator felt the need to hurl a sausage sub at Johan Hedberg while...

Sabres-Bruins Preview

Even a foreign object couldn't slow down the Boston Bruins, and it's been almost two years since the Buffalo Sabres have managed to do it at TD Garden. The Bruins go for their longest season-opening home winning streak in over 22 years Thursday night when they try to continue their success against the Sabres. Boston (5-0-1) has been one of the NHL's best teams this...
