UPDATE: According to several media outlets, Tortorella has been fined $30,000 by the NHL for his comments following Monday's Winter Classic. This is a rather stiff fine for the NHL as far as coaches are concerned, where most of referee-related comments usually come with a $10,000 price tag. Tortorella has since apologized for his comments, and stated that he felt they "tainted" the game.

We like to be entertained.

Plain and simple. And when it comes down to it, there are certain individuals that just simply entertain us a lot more than others.

Many times, that form of entertainment comes via spontaneous, yet calculated (yes, they are two completely opposite adjectives) wordplay. It doesn't matter what various sect of entertainment it is; we all have people we look forward to watching practice their craft.

Whether it's wrestling fans getting excited for The Rock cutting a promo, movie buffs relishing every second of an Al Pacino monologue, or deaf people on the edge of their seats to watch a broadcast featuring Pierre McGuire, we all know the moment our favorite performer steps on that stage, we're going enjoy it.

For those whose favorite form of entertainment is an NHL head coach's post-game press conference, the New York Rangers' John Tortorella takes the honor of best in the biz.

Tortorella, who has spent parts of 12 NHL seasons behind the bench as a head coach, has delivered post-game gems nearly every time he's put in front of a microphone.

This one-time Arthur Fonzarelli stunt double (no, not seriously) has had so many memorable quotes, it even prompted TSN's SportsCentre to compile a Top 10 dedicated solely to him.

Following Monday's 3-2 victory over Philadelphia in the 2012 Winter Classic, once again, Tortorella failed to disappoint.

For those of you who somehow might have missed the Classic, the third period saw the Rangers overcome a two-goal defecit, despite experiencing a plethora of horrific calls by the officials. None bigger than the penalty shot that was awarded to Danny Briere with just under 20 seconds remaining, while the Rangers clung onto the one-goal lead.

"Disgusting," was one of the terms Tortorella used to define the officiating, during his post-game press conference. "Maybe [NBC] wanted to get into overtime," Tortorella said as a possible reason for the awful calls against the Rangers in the third period.  "I’m not sure if [NBC and the officials] had meetings about that or what."

Of course, those bites alone would have been enough for a great presser, but, earlier in the Q&A we were also blessed with some vintage Torts, as well.

In response to how he thought the Flyers' rookies performed given the circumstances of the Classic: "The who? The Flyers? I don't wanna talk about the Flyers. I'm not talking about the Flyers."

EDITOR'S NOTE: It must also be taken into consideration that the previous quote was delivered by Torts with an "Are you serious, bro?" look on his face.

Here's the presser from Monday in full, although, it starts getting good at the 5:51 mark:

I mean, if Tortorella's close friend Sean Avery can be suspended indefinitely for lewd remarks about a former girlfriend, one can only imagine the punishment Torts might face for speculating collusion between the NHL's national television provider and its referees for a ratings spike.
