Secondary scoring has been a huge problem for the Vancouver Canucks this season. Ryan Kesler's season-long injury woes have only made it worse. But the team added significant help this season by grabbing playmaking center Derek Roy during the Dallas Stars fire sale. Vancouver spent only middling defensive prospect Kevin Connauton and a second-round pick to get him. Roy could immediately become the No. 2 center behind the top line of Henrik and Daniel Sedin with Alexandre Burrows. Kesler hopes to return from his foot fracture, so the Canucks may actually be able to assemble three decent lines for a change. Dallas added Roy for this season after he slipped to just 44 points the previous season in Buffalo. He played OK, scoring 22 points in 30 games for the Stars.
