Rask, Bergeron's OT Heroics Put Bruins Up 3-0

It took a long time. A very long time, but the Boston Bruins are just one game away from heading to the Stanley Cup Finals after Patrice Bergeron's goal in the 2nd OT won it for the B's, 2-1. Game 3 started off with a very emotional moment that seemed to rally the Boston faithful. Officer Richard Donohue, who was injured in a gunfight with the Boston Marathon suspect, rolled...

Patrice Bergeron scores winning goal for Bruins, Jaromir Jagr assists (Video)

The Boston Bruins found a way to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins 2-1 in double-overtime of Game 3 of the Eastern Conference finals on Wednesday night, and they likely demoralized the top-seeded Pens in the process. The teams played nearly 66 minutes of scoreless hockey until Patrice Bergeron slipped one past Tomas Vokoun at the 15:19 [...]

Boston Bruin Brad Marchand Called His 2nd Goal in 6-1 Rout of Penguins “[Marchand] with an unbelievable shot,” Thornton said. “He actually called it on the bench…He told me on the bench where he wanted to go if he got one so he was unbelievable tonight. The whole line was great.” A.B. Ok, so it’s not exactly The Great Bambino calling his shot in the 1932 World Series, but it’s still pretty cool. And to make the goal even more...

Brad Marchand, Matt Cooke Have Words Before Bruins Forward Takes Off, Scores Goal (Video)

Brad Marchand‘s second goal of the game in Game 2 against the Penguins pretty much summed up all you needed to know about the second game of the Eastern Conference final. The pesky Bruins forward got the B’s on the board just 28 seconds into the game, but it was his second goal of the period that really put the final nail in the coffin, even in the first period. Just 25 seconds...

Jaromir Jagr Buying Into Bruins’ Philosophy Earning Future Hall of Famer Praise From Teammates

The Bruins knew what they were getting when they acquired Jaromir Jagr at the trade deadline back in April, or so they thought. It was expected that Jagr would come to Boston and kick-start the offense and power play while likely adding little in the other two zones. For the most part, that narrative has been fairly true, although the Bruins would have probably liked to get more...

Video- Marchand Knees Kunitz And He Slashes Marchand

Do you think the refs would have called the kneeing penalty on Brad Marchand if Chris Kunitz would not have retaliated with the slash? Both did receive penalties and rightfully so.

Bruins win in 2OT, go up 3-0 on Pens

Patrice Bergeron scored 15:19 into the second overtime to lead the Boston Bruins to a 2-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Penguins and a 3-0 series lead in the Eastern Conference finals on Wednesday night.

If a goal results from a penalizable play, why are those who suggest as much deemed lunatics?

It's been a week since the Red Wings were eliminated from the playoffs, and yet, when a "battle" occurred along the side boards which directly led to Patrice Bergeron's 2OT winner in the Bruins' 2-1 win over Pittsburgh--in a game where I have no allegiances whatsoever, though the natural Wings fan's desire to see the Penguins bent over and broken like so...

Patrice Bergeron scores tip-in double overtime winner

Game 3 of the Pittsburgh Penguins-Boston Bruins series was a fantastic game and a track meet with back and forth action.  Late in the second overtime, Bruins forward Jaromir Jagr got away with a bit of a hook on Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin and got the puck up to Brad Marchand.  Marchand went down and made a fantastic pass to Patrice Bergeron who managed to tip the puck past...

Bruins Edge Penguins 2-1 in Second Overtime of Thrilling Game 3

The Boston Bruins battled the Pittsburgh Penguins Wednesday night for nearly five full periods of riveting hockey. It was the closest game so far in the Stanley Cup Eastern Conference Finals until Patrice Bergeron put the Bruins up three games to none with a soft touch of his stick in front of the net off a hard pass from Brad Marchand. The goal came with just 4:41 left in the second...

ICYMI: Bruins Roll Pens in Double O.T--Take Commanding Lead

Okay, admit it, how many of you hockey fans thought the Stanley Cup Eastern Conference finals would be this easy for the Boston Bruins? Yeah, thought so. The B's rode a Patrice Bergeron goal in double overtime, combined with stellar goalkeeping by Tuuka Rask for a 2-1 win Wednesday night and a 3-0 lead in their Best-of-7 series. Rask stopped 53 of 54 shots, the goal...

Tuukka Rask Stands Tall, Brad Marchand Gets Under Penguins’ Skin in Best Images From Bruins’ Sweep (Photo)

The Penguins were supposed to be unbeatable. Somebody must have forgotten to tell Tuukka Rask. Rask, the Bruins goaltender who faced so much pressure when he took over for onetime Stanley Cup hero Tim Thomas, is building his own legacy after another sterling performance in Game 4 of the Eastern Conference finals against the Penguins on Friday. Rask stopped all 26 shots he faced and...

Vokounamatata. It means no wins for the first two games. BRUINS WIN!

- Brad Marchand was unreal last night. First he opened the game with scoring a goal at the 26 second mark. If I could, I would personally thank Sidney Crosby for that turnover which lead to the Marchand goal.  And as great as that goal was, the second one was even better. Marchand starts chirping Cooke, gets Cooke's defenses down and then takes off on a rush and scores...

Heart-Stopping Play That Ends in Double Overtime Captured in Best Images From Instant Classic Game 3 of Eastern Conference Finals (Photos)

The Bruins and Penguins might not have looked very evenly matched through the first two games of the Eastern Conference finals, but that changed in a big way for Game 3. The two teams needed double overtime to determine a winner, where Patrice Bergeron beat Tomas Vokoun to stake Boston to a 3-0 series lead after one of the most hard-fought victories in recent memory. In a game full...

Boston Bruins blow out Pittsburgh Penguins, take control of Eastern Conference Finals

Did anyone see this coming? Anyone? The Boston Bruins entered the Eastern Conference Finals with not many people picking them to beat the Pittsburgh Penguins. But through two games, the Bruins have been the better team and head home after dominating the Penguins 6-1 on Monday night.     The Bruins dominated from the get-go. Brad Marchand scored just 28 seconds in and the Bruins...
