I normally do not post the after-game interviews, but head coach John Tortorella, I thought, was really spot-on in his analysis of last night's 4-1 loss to the St. Louis Blues. And really, his analysis could be applied to the last few games the Rangers have played because the same problems have started to reoccur each night.

Here's the video:

The Rangers haven't been winning the battles since Sunday's 6-1 win over the Florida Panthers. Maybe they sat back after that victory? Whatever the case is, the team's execution on the forecheck has not been up to speed as of late and that's why they've scored just one goal in 120 minutes of hockey.

Also, I didn't mention this in the postgame yesterday, but it was brought up in the above video; Tortorella benched Brad Richards for a while in the first period after Brad was out for both goals against. We saw it on HBO's 24/7 the other day and now we saw it again last night, and when I say that I am referring to Tortorella holding all players accountable for their errors. It takes guts to sit someone like Marian Gaborik or Brad Richards, but Torts did it without hesitation.

Maybe he should try that approach with Brandon Dubinsky.
