The St. Louis Blues opened the season on Saturday night with an impressive 6-0 shutout of the Detroit Red Wings thanks in part to spectacular goals by rookie sensation Vladimir Tarasenko.
Tarasenko got the Blues scoring off on the right in the first period after taking a long pass from Ian Cole to beat Red Wings goalie Jimmy Howard. It was a fantastic play as the Russian rookie lifted the stick of Red Wings defender and then quickly attacked the net with a wicked shot that went over Howard's shoulder.
Tarasenko was not done there and his second goal was even more spectacular. Check out it our for yourself.
