TEAMS: Los Angeles Kings, Carolina Hurricanes
According to Aaron Ward, the Los Angeles Kings are dealing Kevin Westgarth to the Carolina Hurricanes. Bob McKenzie chimes in that the 'Canes are sending Anthony Stewart and picks (a fourth-rounder in 2013 and a sixth rounder in 2014) to LA. Westgarth only suited up for 25 games last season, but is more than willing to throw his 6-foot-5, 247-pound frame around when he's on the ice. Acquiring him gives Carolina some more toughness up front and someone to make the opposition think twice before taking liberties with skill guys like Jeff Skinner and Eric Staal.Source: ESPN insider
