PLAYERS: Matt Cullen
TEAMS: Minnesota Wild
Minnesota Wild center Matt Cullen will miss at least the next two games because of an unspecified lower-body injury. Cullen was hurt in Monday's loss to St. Louis. The Wild play at San Jose on Wednesday and at Los Angeles on Thursday. Coach Mike Yeo said after practice on Tuesday that Cullen's injury doesn't appear to be serious. Yeo said he's hopeful that Cullen can heal in time to play at Columbus on Sunday. The 36-year-old slick-skating Cullen had four goals and 12 assists over a 16-game stretch through March 30. He's fourth on the team with 25 points this season, including seven goals.

Bios from a Minnesota Wild writer about Johan Larsson and Matt Hackett

I'll make this quick... I reached out to Dan over at Hockey Wilderness (SB Nation site) to get some info about  Johan Larsson and Matt Hackett. Here's what he's got on both players:   Hackett is a solid sized goaltender with great reflexes and smooth movements. He's aggressive in the crease and an extremely athletic player, who is strong in the crease...

Fourth-line success benefiting Wild

ST. PAUL, Minn. Think of the Minnesota Wild, and thoughts will typically go to names like Zach Parise, Mikko Koivu, Ryan Suter and Niklas Backstrom. Minnesota's veteran players and leaders Koivu wears the "C" as captain and Parise and Suter are assistant captains in their first season with the Wild inevitably draw well-deserved attention. The second line of Pierre...

Wild repeat early-season struggles in loss

ST. PAUL, Minn. In coming back to win two straight home games, the Minnesota Wild overcame two-goal deficits thanks to gritty, confident finishes. Dan Boyle goes end-to-end on sick goal

Brent Burns has turned around his season after switching from the blue line to winger for the Sharks. But on Wednesday against the Wild, Dan Boyle showed that Burns isn’t the only Sharks defenseman who can look like a forward when he skated with the puck coast-to-coast on a two-man advantage and gave us this goal of the year candidate: That Wild player Boyle dekes out of his skates...

Brad Ratgen: Wild's Hot Streak About to Be Challenged? 54 Points or Bust!

The signings of Zach Parise and Ryan Suter on July 4th as UFA’s ushered in a new era for Wild faithful. We are now at the beginning of an era of patience and planning. Gone are the Risebrough days of abnormally high contracts for mediocre players; losing star players for nothing; getting goons at the trade deadline just to say we did something. It was about this time last...

Report: Wild acquire Jason Pominville in trade

The Minnesota Wild weren't eager to dip into their highly touted farm system, but apparently couldn't pass up the chance when they acquired Buffalo Sabres captain Jason Pominville before Wednesday's trade deadline. Multiple reports say Minnesota sent two prospects, goaltender Matt Hackett and forward Johan Larsson, to Buffalo for Pominville, who has at least 20 goals...

Wild trade for Jason Pominville in a deadline deal surprise

I must admit I thought the Wild would be quiet during the trade deadline and as the hours ticked by with little to know activity it appeared as though my expectations would be fulfilled.  Then late in the afternoon, the rumors began flying the Wild were pushing hard for Buffalo Sabres right winger Jason Pominville and lo and behold they came true.  However the move did not come...
