SAINT PAUL, Minn. The Minnesota Wild have placed goaltender Josh Harding on injured reserve and recalled center Warren Peters from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League.
Harding, 27, has started 11 games this season as the Wild's backup goaltender and has a 7-2 record with a 2.14 GAA and .932 save percentage. He suffered a neck injury in a Dec. 6 game against the San Jose Sharks and hasn't played since. Rookie Matt Hackett has been filling in as Niklas Backstrom's backup.
Earlier this season, Harding set the tone for the team's run to the top of the NHL standings by starting and winning four straight games while allowing just three total goals. Since then, he has cooled off somewhat, but he remains one of the top No. 2 goalies in the league.
Peters, 29, has one assist in nine games with the Wild this season. He has seven goals and four assists in 20 games with Houston.
