ST. PAUL, Minn. Facing an important Game 3 against the Chicago Blackhawks, the Minnesota Wild called up three forwards on Sunday. Minnesota recalled Mikael Granlund, Stephane Veilleux and Jake Dowell prior to Sunday afternoon's playoff game, the first home Wild playoff game in five years. Minnesota is down 2-0 to top-seed Chicago. Granlund, Veilleux and Dowell were playing for the Wild's affiliate in the American Hockey League, the Houston Aeros, whose season ended in the Calder Cup playoffs with a loss on Saturday night. Minnesota coach Mike Yeo wouldn't confirm if any of the three would be in the lineup for Sunday's game. The Minneapolis Star Tribune reported Sunday that Veilleux would be in the lineup. Veilleux, 31, has been recalled for the third time by the Wild this season, but hasn't played a game in the NHL this year. He had three goals and five assists in 33 regular-season games for Houston this season and added one assists and six penalty minutes in the playoffs. Veilleux is eighth in franchise history in games played. Granlund, 21, has two goals and six assists in 27 games with Minnesota this season. Dowell, 28, has played in two games with the Wild, going scoreless and averaging 8 minutes, 32 seconds of ice time. Follow Brian Hall on Twitter.
