Just as Minnesota Wilds Niklas Backstrom is beginning to get better, now it appears teammate Josh Harding may have suffered an injury of his own.
According to the Minneapolis Star-Tribune’s Michael Russo, the red-hot Wild backup apparently suffered a lower body injury during Thursday’s 3-1 triumph over the Carolina Hurricanes. As reported by Russo, the Wild head coach, Mike Yeo has not revealed just how severe the injury may be, but the hope is not too severe. Harding, who is 29, is hurt for an indefinite amount of time while Cam Ward is going to miss at least three to four weeks with an injury of his own. Pekka Rinne also announced prior to the game his own month long injury that he will be dealing with. In nine games played so far, Harding has been fantastic, with a 5-2-1 record, .953 save percentage and 1.00 GAA.
To say Thursday was a bad night for goalies would be an understatement.
