Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle, a Boston-area native, made headlines when he took the ice for warmups Saturday in a jersey honoring Martin Richard, the 8-year-old victim of last week's marathon bombings.
The jersey, a standard Coyotes road sweater, featured "Martin Richard" on the nameplate in place of "Yandle" as well as No. 8 instead of Yandle's usual...
Phoenix Coyotes defenseman Keith Yandle has felt the impact of the Boston Marathon bombings a bit more than many players across the NHL. Yandle is a Massachusetts native who grew up near Boston. Last week, he wrote the words “pray for Boston” across his skates to pay tribute to those affected by the tragedy. He put an even more personal touch on it Saturday night. Martin Richard...

Season of frustration, said Tippett, who has been as visibly annoyed as anyone by his inability to find solutions.

After reaching the Western Conference finals last season, the Phoenix Coyotes are on the verge of missing the playoffs.
Five points out of the final playoff spot with three games remaining, the fading Coyotes look to avoid a third consecutive loss to the postseason-bound San Jose Sharks at home Wednesday night.
While San Jose (25-14-7) has secured its ninth consecutive playoff...
The Red Wings' 4-0 victory over the Phoenix Coyotes earned praise from both outside and within the Metro Detroit area. ESPN's Scott Burnside weighed in on the Wings win...
Now, one big win does not blot out the issues that have plagued the Wings for most of the season. First, they have been unable to get into a real groove when it's mattered, failing to win back...
Johan Franzen scored twice and Jimmy Howard had 34 saves to help the Detroit Red Wings beat the Phoenix Coyotes 4-0 Monday night to get two desperately needed points in their push to make the playoffs.
The Red Wings moved within a point of eighth-place Columbus in the Western Conference. They're hoping to finish the last three games of the regular season strong enough to extend...
Mike Smith solved the Blackhawks again on Saturday night, and the Blackhawks lost to the Coyotes in overtime. It might be frustrating to admit (or write), but the Blackhawks are going through the motions right now.
