Larry Brown Sports:
Is there any doubt that the people of Winnipeg are glad to have professional hockey back? The Jets fans have quickly become some of the best in hockey, and the team is 21-10-4 at home as a result. They are fighting for the 8th playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and are one of the teams that you could easily envision playing spoiler for a top seed. Jets fans don’t just want troughs brought back to the arena restrooms, they’re also extremely clever when it comes to taunting opponents. As you can see from the video above that Puck Daddy shared with us, they chanted “silver medal!” at Buffalo goalie Ryan Miller on Monday night.
Miller, of course, was the goalie for the United States at the 2010 Olympics when they lost to Canada in the finals. Buffalo lost to the Jets and is struggling this season. However, they shouldn’t feel bad. A lot of teams have lost in Winnipeg this season, and the passionate fans are one of the biggest reasons why.

Ryan Miller of the Buffalo Sabres had a shutout near the end of the second period in the Sabres game against the San Jose Sharks on Thursday. CSN Bay Area announcers Randy Hahn and Drew Remenda then break ANNOUNCER CODE (GASP!) and start talking about jinxing shutouts, a tenet that is also revered in the MLB during no-hitters. What do they segue their talk about jinxes into?

It’s time for some Sabres trivia. Which of the following players, over his past 30 games, has scored the fewest points: Ville Leino, Thomas Vanek, Tyler Myers, Derek Roy or Drew Stafford?
Give yourself a stick tap if you said Vanek.

Lindy Ruff was faced with a serious challenge on Wednesday morning.
Thomas Vanek hadn't scored in seven games and was mired in a nasty scoring slump. Derek Roy was also squeezing the stick too tight as a result of his scoring drought. Jason Pominville, like Vanek, had gone seven games since recording his last point.
Ruff was not happy with the play of the 26-9-29 line on...
The Sabres hit the ice at 10:15am for their game day skate. Not much time at all to re-set lines or to play around with new combinations.
Lindy Ruff is icing all of the same line trios that skated in Winnipeg.
Mike harrington of the Buffalo News tweeted that Derek Roy, the subject of line movement rumours, skated with Vanek and Pommer at in line rushes.
Three games in the next four nights. Jhonas Enroth has to get a start in one of these right?
I'd like to see Enroth get that start tonight. Let Miller rest for a game and give him starts the following three games, which are all against division teams.
Just because Miller has been playing well lately doesn't mean the Sabres should ride him to the ground. He's already...
Puck drop was 7:05, NOT 7:10!
The Buffalo Sabres broke out to an early lead on Saturday, taking advantage of a pair of point shots to allow Ville Leino to snap home his fifth and sixth of the season only minutes into the hockey game.
The Vancouver Canucks couldn’t keep the puck out of their own end in the first five minutes on Saturday, resulting in long night on the bench for...

Warm-ups started six minutes ago.
Six D are on the ice, including Alex Sulzer. Andrej Sekera is not on the ice.
Sekera skated this morning.
Jason Pominville scored a power play goal just 56 seconds into overtime as the Buffalo Sabres took down the Carolina Hurricanes 3-2 in front of a sellout crowd at First Niagara Center. The win bumps Buffalo’s record to 7-1-2 in their last 10 games – tied for best in the NHL in that stretch. It was a game that saw Buffalo’s top line of Pominville, Derek Roy, and Thomas Vanek...

Iâm not sure when it started but once again the 300 level took the âfandemoniumâ to a new level in the MTS Centre tonight as the Jets played host the Buffalo Sabres. Before the game it was easy to say it was going to be a playoff atmosphere but if this was a preview of what the playoffs could be like in...
