Mats Zuccarello seems certain to re-sign with the Rangers on a multiple year contract, his agent, Erik Ryman, told Norwegian news source Verdans Gang. Here is a rough translation of what Ryman said: "It's so Sather said. There are only details remaining. I think it will solve itself. But he will have a one-way contract, with a length of two to three years...Mats will play in the NHL and at New York Rangers, he is in a good position. They are happy with what he did after he came back." Ryman goes on to say that he and the Rangers will meet prior to the NHL Entry Draft, which will occur on June 30th, but that a deal might not be finalized until afterwards.      Zuccarello was signed to a one-year deal after completing his season in the KHL and impressed even those most skeptical of his ability to contribute in any facet. Zuccarello produced a respectable eight points in 15 regular season games and added seven points in 12 playoff games, including his first ever playoff goal. Perhaps what allowed Zuccarello to gain even Tortorella's trust, however, was a newfound dedication to doing his due dilligence away from the puck. A player who shied away from hitting or doing much defensively in his first couple of stints in the NHL, Zuccarello recorded 27 hits and 15 blocked shots in 15 regular season games, along with displaying less quantifiable aspects of the game like backchecking and a fiesty nature around the crease.  Zuccarello is by default sacrificing money to remain in the NHL; he could get significantly more in Sweden or Russia. So he knows what he is getting himself into financially. Expect him to get a comfortable contract but one that gives the Rangers plenty of flexibility.    Follow Me On Twitter: @Herman_NYRBlog Email Me: AdamNYRBlog@gmail.com
