Senior Drew Palmisano made a season-best 45 saves - one off his career best - to backstop Michigan State to a 3-1 victory over Michigan Tech in the semifinals of the 47th annual Great Lakes Invitational. MSU beats Michigan Tech 3-1 in first round of GLI
DETROIT (AP) - Michigan State goalie Drew Palmisano made 45 saves to lead the Spartans to a 3-1 win over Michigan Tech on Thursday in the first round of the Great Lakes Invitational men's college hockey tournament.
The 14th-ranked Spartans (11-6-2) have won 14 of the last 15 games against Michigan Tech (9-10-1). They will play in the tournament championship game on Friday.
