Cody Eakin pumped up the deflated Dallas Stars with an overtime goal after the New York Islanders tied the game with 2 seconds left in the third period.
''I thought we were playing well enough to win in regulation,'' Eakin said after Dallas' 3-2 victory snapped a six-game losing streak Tuesday night. ''So it was deflating, but it's nice to get that extra one at the end.''

DALLAS (AP) Cody Eakin scored 2:18 into overtime and the Dallas Stars beat the New York Islanders 3-2 on Tuesday night to snap a six-game losing streak.
Eakin took a pass from Jamie Benn on a 2-on-1 break and beat goalie Jaroslav Halak. The goal gave the Stars their first overtime victory in eight games this season.

CHICAGO (AP) -- Cody Eakin and the Dallas Stars traveled to Chicago three times this season, and each time they had to face the Blackhawks on the second part of games on consecutive days.
They found a way to grab the third one.
Eakin had two goals and an assist, and the Stars scored three times in the third period of a 6-3 victory over the slumping Blackhawks on Sunday.
