2013 Season Review: The rest of the forwards
Erik Cole
Erik Cole came to Dallas as part of that much-maligned Michael Ryder trade about a month into the season. He was working as a second/third liner in Montreal and took that same role with Dallas, ostensibly replacing Brenden Morrow.
On the ice, Cole had some nice games here and there, but he really failed to impress in his short time with the Stars. He had a bunch...
Stars Believe In Cole
from Mike Heika of the Dallas Morning News,
Many of you have asked how I feel about the Stars trade for Erik Cole, and I have to tell you I’m not sure right now.
You do this long enough and you get a little gun-shy on declaring absolute victory or defeat with a trade or a draft pick or a free agent signing. I know that goes against the grain of our Twitter society, but...
Montreal trades Erik Cole to Dallas for Michael Ryder
Today is a day of trades. Just hours after it was announced that Philadelphia had traded for Simon Gagne, Montreal and Dallas complete a trade that sends Erik Cole to the Stars and Michael Ryder up to the Canadiens.
The Ryder/Cole deal was confirmed by TSN's Bob McKenzie.
No offense to the Philadelphia / LA trade earlier today, but this is a trade with some substance...
Erik Cole On Roman Hamrlik
from Dave Stubbs of Hockey Inside/Out,
From his upstate New York home, where he and his family will spend U.S. Thanksgiving, Cole was fairly bursting to offer his view on the point of view of Hamrlik, who might be hearing a loud ticking of the final year of his Capitals contract.
“I am bent on this one, yeah,” Cole, 34, said Wednesday evening, so angry that for the first...
Erik Cole, NHL Players Wearing ‘Puck Gary’ Hats, Taking Dig at Gary Bettman (Photo)
The NHL lockout isn’t quite past the point of no return, but it became more than insufferable a long time ago. The players and owners continue trading places as the dinks, and it’s Erik Cole and members of the Motnreal Canadiens who is now wearing the “dink” hat.
Well, actually, he’s wearing a different kind of hat, but is no less of a dink.

Cole scores hat trick in first 5:41
Erik Cole scored three goals in the first 5:41 and the Montreal Canadiens beat the Ottawa Senators 5-1 on Friday night.
Cole has 30 goals this season. Patteri Nokelainen also scored in the first period, and Lars Eller added one in the third for Montreal, 4-0-2 against Ottawa.

SACRE BLEU!
Video: Habs player scores, high-fives ref
Erik Cole scored a goal on Wednesday night for the Ottowa Senators and couldn’t find any of his teammates to celebrate with. So what did Cole do? He found an outstretched arm of an 18-year veteran official Greg Kimmerly and gave him a high five. Pretty hilarious and you can only imagine what the ref was thinking after it happened.
“He was the only one there, and I had...
Erik Cole celebrates scoring goal by giving high-five to ref (Video)
Montreal Canadiens forward Erik Cole scored the first goal of Wednesday night's NHL game in Montreal against the Ottawa Senators. As Cole looked for someone to celebrate, the first person he came across was NHL referee Greg Kimmerly who had his hand up to signal that the goal was good. Naturally, Cole's instincts took over and he gave the ref a high-five.
Montreal...
SACRE BLEU!
Video: Habs player scores, high-fives ref
I can confidently say that I’ve never seen this happen before, but it was certainly entertaining. In the Canadiens/Senators game tonight, Erik Cole scored the first goal of the game on Sens backup goalie Ben Bishop and then proceeded to high-five referee Greg Kimmerly. It didn’t seem like Kimmerly was exactly planning for the high-five, more like signaling that it was a good...
FRIENDLY FIRE
Video: Canadiens D hipchecks teammate
For an NHL defenseman, it has to be a good feeling to skate through center ice and lay a good hit on a guy with his head. But, it can't be a good feeling when that guy with his head down is your teammate.Montreal Canadiens blue liner Alexei Emelin had Minnesota Wild winger Nick Johnson lined up for a little hip check when Johnson pulled a nifty move to sidestep him. Instead...
