What Does Jayson Megna Being Re-Assigned Mean?

In our quick recap of the Flyers-Pens weekend series, we said this: The Pens finally got a goal from a third/fourth liner with Megna’s, so he’s probably gonna get sent down. Then, this morning, we read this: The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Jayson Megna to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced by executive vice president and...

Why not Jayson Megna over Taylor Pyatt by @MadChad412

There is a paradox that most of us face in our lives and hockey is no different. You need experience to get the full-time job for your career but you have to get the job to have that experience. The Pittsburgh Penguins have shown this to be true at the NHL level as their head coach Dan Bylsma and the rest of the organization haven't been too kind to their young players that they...

Penguins reassign Megna to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton

The Penguins have reassigned forward Jayson Megna to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League. Megna was recalled Friday and played in two games over the weekend, recording a goal, but was a healthy scratch Tuesday night against Dallas because the Penguins got back a couple of forwards who had been hurt.

Young Penguins forward Jayson Megna adjusting to super sidekicks

It might have been the best party Jayson Megna has attended. Certainly, it set a career path for him. Not that he realized that at the time. After all, he was only 7 years old. He never had been on ice skates, but he was game to try at a friend’s birthday party at a rink in suburban Chicago. “I hung onto the wall a little bit, then did my best to shuffle around the ice,...

Did the Penguins Hit the "Megna" Ball Lottery? by @PandaPSU

(Photo courtesy of Penguins.com) If you have followed Jayson Megna's young career, he is an easy guy to root for. After graduating high school in 2009, he played two seasons with the USHL Cedar Rapids Roughriders. He then played one season with the Division I ice hockey program at the University of Nebraska Omaha before joining the Penguins' Development Camp in...

Penguins @ Carolina Recap by @ryannoble66 w/ @Evil_Shero Fight Recap

Last night Jayson Megna with the help of the Pittsburgh Penguins defeated the Carolina Hurricanes by a score of 3-1. In his second game he managed to get a goal and an assist and show how much potential he has. I am not sure if he has human legs and at times he had really nice hands. I guess we should get into other players and points from last nights game. JAYSON MEGNA!! ...

Megna lifts Penguins with first goal

Sidney Crosby did set it up, and it did ice a victory that ended a losing streak. That it clicked in off his shin pad? No big deal. Megna scored his first goal on a deflection after he also earned his first assist, helping the Penguins snap...
