Sabres booed at home, but look to win 4 straight

The Buffalo Sabres battled through home crowd boos, a rash of penalties and a shorthanded goal against to beat the New Jersey Devils 3-2 in yet another shootout. The Sabres got on the board first with a goal from Patrick Kaleta, who redirected a shot from Jochen Hecht. 10 Reasons Why The Sabres Won’t Waive Jochen Hecht

I'm pretty confident that the Sabres would be happy to get, say, a 5th or 6th-round draft choice for Jochen Hecht on or before April 3rd.  Hey, John Scott was dealt for a 5th-rounder last season at the trade deadline, so who knows? To all of you Sabres fans who think such a return would be worthless, and can't understand why Buffalo would demote Brian Flynn or Marcus Foligno...

Long Live Jochen Hecht

I met my now husband, Mark, in 1997.  That’s when I met the Buffalo Sabres, too.  For the first couple of years we were together, we lived in Birmingham, Alabama so the Sabres remained a pretty distant concept.  I watched the ’99 Cup run, but after that, they were off the radar.  Even after we moved to Buffalo in August of 2000, I didn’t take to hockey right away.  If...

Is Jochen Hecht Getting The Cold Shoulder From The Sabres?

from Bill Hoppe of the Niagra Gazette, The Sabres, of course, also have their own free agents. Regier said earlier this month it was “probably less likely than likely” forwards Brad Boyes and Jochen Hecht, the notable unrestricted veterans, would return. Roland Thompson, Hecht’s agent, told the Gazette on Saturday that he’s only spoken to Regier once recently, at the NHL...
