TAMPA, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Lightning forward J.T. Brown was re-signed to a two-year, one-way contract Wednesday night.
The deal is worth a reported $1.9 million.
Brown, 23, had four goals and 19 points in 63 games with the Lightning last season. He ranked fourth among Tampa Bay rookies for assists and points. He had two assists in four Stanley Cup playoff games last season.
A day after Lightning star Steven Stamkos broke his right tibia crashing into a goal post at TD Garden, the focus shifted from what happened -- Stamkos had Tuesday morning surgery to repair the injury -- to how the Lightning will cope with the loss of its best player perhaps for the rest of the season.
