Metro + state: Wolverines complete sweep of Wildcats

College hockey A.J. Treais scored at 1:20 of overtime as No. 5 Michigan beat No. 20 Northern Michigan, 3-2, in a Central Collegiate Hockey Association game in Ann Arbor on Saturday night. Luke Glendening and Jon Merrill scored in regulation for U-M (20-10-4, 14-8-4-1 CCHA). Andrew Cherniwchan and Justin Florek scored for the Wildcats (14-12-6, 9-11-6-3).

Wildcats hand U-M first loss, 5-3

Tyler Gron scored at 17:36 of the third period as Northern Michigan beat Michigan, 5-3, in Ann Arbor. It was the first loss of the season for the Wolverines (4-1), who were ranked No. 2 in the USA Today/Hockey Magazine poll. Justin Florek scored an empty-net goal for the Wildcats (4-1). Lindsay Sparks, Zach Hyman and Travis Lynch scored for Michigan.
