Kevin Freiheit: Amerks' 1-1 start
The Americans are off to a 1-1 start, which obviously could have been worse. Blowing a three goal lead in the season opener is nothing to be proud of, but I have to give them credit. After the collapse, Mark Mancari stepped up.

Mark Mancari proved to be the hero as he tied the game in the third period and later scored in the 5th round of the shootout, giving the Americans a 6-5 victory in its season opener.

Not a bad signing by the Sabres. In fact, I think it's a pretty good one.
