I just got off of the phone with Greg Shepherd, head of WCHA officials, and this is what I know. Mersch came off of the bench on a line change and would have actually would’ve had to enter the altercation in question to be suspended. UW hockey team gets first home win
The University of Wisconsin hockey team got its first home victory of the season Thursday night, winning 5-0 against Alabama-Huntsville at Kohl Center.
The Badgers (3-7-5, 2-5-5 WCHA) recorded season bests in goals scored (five) and fewest shots allowed (nine) and tied a season high for shots on net (37) on their way to a comfortable victory.
