Wisconsin's Michael Mersch will not be suspended
I just got off of the phone with Greg Shepherd, head of WCHA officials, and this is what I know. Mersch came off of the bench on a line change and would have actually would’ve had to enter the altercation in question to be suspended. So, if Mersch had jumped off of the Wisconsin players been and entered the altercation in the Wisconsin end, Mersch would have then been suspended...
UW and UND scrum .59 seconds left
The Badgers and UND exchange pleasantries at the end of the game. I don't think these two teams were asking each other where they were going to meet after the game. Badger forward Michael Mersch needs to be suspended and I expect that he will when the WCHA reviews this film. There is no way to defend Mersch's actions, that's not acceptable in any league. There is conclusive...

Badgers Hockey breaks home winless streak.... finally
Milestone moments from forwards Nic Kerdiles and Michael Mersch opened up the Badgers scoring as they cruised to an easy 5-0 win over the Alabama-Huntsville Chargers in the series opener. Thanks to those moments and a clear gulf in talent level between the programs Wisconsin earned their first victory at the Kohl Center this season and improved their record to 3-7-5 (2-5-5 WCHA)...
Men's Hockey: Badgers and Gophers Tie
The Wisconsin men's hockey team skated to a 2-2 draw with Minnesota Friday night at Mariucci Arena.
It was the Gophers who got the scoring started just under four minutes into the contest when Zach Budish lit the lamp.
Michael Mersch was quick to answer for the Badgers when he scored seconds later to knot the game at 1-1.
Erik Haula picked up a score just :48...
Badgers Crumble in Home Opener
A pair of early goals weren't enough for the Wisconsin men's hockey team that fell 5-4 at the hands of Colorado College Friday night at the Kohl Center.
Wisconsin didn't wast anytime getting on the board. Michael Mersch found the back of the net just 1:29 into the opening period.
Brad Navin scored his first of the year minutes later to extend the Badgers'...
Badgers hockey falls, 2-1, to NMU
GREEN BAY, Wis. -- Junior forward Michael Mersch tallied a power-play goal, but it went for naught as the Wisconsin men's hockey squad dropped a 2-1 decision Friday at the hands of Northern Michigan. Northern Michigan's Cohen Adair put his club up for good midway through the third period, as he hammered home a power-play goal. Northern Michigan also got a goal from Reed Seckel...

Michael Mersch penalty.
At the .50 second mark on the embedded video above you will see the check that the Wisconsin Badgers forward Michael Mersch put on Minnesota Gophers forward Kyle Rau.
This check in question would end the night for the Badgers Mersch as he was given a five minute major for contact to the head and a game misconduct. In watching the video, I honestly don't understand how that...
