Could Tottenham reject offer of £150M from Manchester City for Harry Kane?

It's long been thought that Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy has placed a valuation of £150 million on wantaway striker and three-time Premier League Golden Boot winner Harry Kane as the England captain has been linked with a transfer to reigning league champions Manchester City.

That might not be entirely accurate.

Matt Law of The Telegraph reported Monday that Levy "could even refuse a bid that gets close to £150 million" for Kane. The 28-year-old denied arriving late for training earlier this month in a reported attempt to force Levy's hand, and Kane made his season debut only as a second-half substitute in Sunday's 1-0 win at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Kane is signed for three more seasons but allegedly believes he had a "gentleman's agreement" with Levy that would allow him to leave Tottenham to sign for a title contender such as City before the transfer window closes at the end of the month. However, Kane's current deal does not include a release clause, so he and his camp have few options if Levy is determined not to lose his top asset to an English team this month.

Tottenham won their first two matches of the league campaign without Kane in the starting lineup. Kane wasn't in the squad for the 1-0 victory over City on Aug. 15.
