Milan received some bad news in their pursuit of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko, as his release clause is levitating to at least €65m.

They need to find a new centre-forward this summer, as Olivier Giroud is all set to leave as a free agent for a move to LAFC in Major League Soccer.

Sesko had been one of the candidates mentioned some months ago, but the cost of the operation is changing due to an unusual contract.

Sesko price is rising

Sky Sports Deutschland report the release clause is linked to performance, so while it was €50m in January, that has low risen to €65m.

It’s not over yet either, because if Sesko continues to impress, then it can reach a maximum of €70-75m by the end of the season.

So far this term, Slovenia international Sesko has contributed 16 goals and two assists in 40 competitive appearances for RB Leipzig.

Milan are by far the only club interested in his services, as Sesko is also a target for several Premier League clubs, including Arsenal.

Sesko turns 21 later this month and is under contract until June 2028.
