AC Milan suffered a tough defeat in the game against Atalanta last night, conceding a 95th-minute winner. Despite coming back from behind twice, the Rossoneri left the stadium empty-handed.

Olivier Giroud scored the first equaliser, finding the back of the net with a nice header. Atalanta re-took the lead thanks to the brace from Ademola Lookman, who was a thorn in Milan’s side, but the substitute Luka Jovic levelled the scores once again.

However, all the momentum that the Rossoneri had vanished when Davide Calabria was sent off, followed by the winner from Luis Muriel. It was the icing on the cake of a poor defensive performance throughout the game, with both Milan strikers let down by just that.

The headlines

Gazzetta dello Sport: “Milan, morale under the heel. Soulless devil equalises twice, then falls. Pioli: ‘If I am in question? Here they expect more’.”

Tuttosport: “Muriel’s backheel crushes Milan. Pioli, now there’s trouble. Giroud and Jovic respond to Lookman, but in the 95th minute Muriel sinks the Rossoneri.”

Corriere dello Sport: “Gasperini wins the battle against Pioli. Muriel’s backheel, Milan sinks.”
