Bayern Munich and Germany goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has pulled out of his country's friendly with Argentina on Wednesday due to a hip injury.
Bayern says on its website that the 26-year-old Neuer suffered the injury during the club's 2-1 win over Borussia Dortmund in the German Supercup on Sunday.
Neuer was to inform Germany coach Joachim Loew of his intention not to travel to Frankfurt for the game.
Neuer's absence leaves Hannover's Ron-Robert Zieler as the only goalkeeper in Germany's squad after Loew dropped regular No. 2 Tim Wiese of Hoffenheim.
Loew may yet call up Wiese, while Moenchengladbach goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen is also an option.
