Di Canio is thought to be a keen admirer of the midfielder, and according to reports from the Sunderland Echo, is willing to bring the player to the Stadium of Light for around £5million mark, as he looks to rebuild his squad ahead of the new season. Sunderland have sold Simon Mignolet to Liverpool few days back for £9million and Di Canio wants to invest that money into other areas of the squad. The 26-year-old understands that first team opportunities are very limited for him at Spurs and feels the time is probably right for him to make a move elsewhere.
