New Liverpool signing Kolo Toure
After months of speculations, Kolo Toure’s move to Liverpool has finally been completed, with the Cote d’Ivoire defender having put pen to paper on a two-year deal at the club.
Toure had formally agreed to join the Reds last month on a free transfer, but had to wait until his contract with Manchester City officially expired on July 1 before signing on at Anfield.
Hence, the 32-year-old was delighted to link-up with his new team-mates at the Merseyside outfit’s Melwood training ground on Tuesday for pre-season training.
“This means a lot to me. Firstly, I’m joining one of the best clubs in England,” he told the club’s official website.
“When I left City it was important for me to stay in England because it’s the best league – and to join Liverpool is massive for me.
“I chose Liverpool because of the history and because of the spirit of the team and the people here”, he concluded.
