If Pierre Webo has something against Laurent Koscielny, he didn’t hide it very well on Wednesday. Webo, a forward for Turkish club Fenerbache, kicked Arsenal defender Koscielny in the face as he tried to kick the ball 30 minutes into their UEFA Champions League qualifying game. Koscielny suffered a deep cut and left the field with his face covered in blood. He was taken to a hospital in Istanbul where he was treated and released. After the game, Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger spoke about Koscielny’s condition and prospects for recovery, according to the BBC. “He’s like a boxer who had a hard fight the night before; lots of blood around his eye and a deep cut,” Wenger said. ”Let’s hope he recovers for next Tuesday against Fenerbahce.” The referee showed Webo a yellow card for dangerous play. Wenger thought the incident was avoidable. “I was not happy with the kick because I feel always that you can ease a bit off. Only the player in the end will know what he did.” See Webo kick Koscielny in the face below. Olivier Giroud appears with Koscielny, who had several stitches over his eye, below.
