Milan are reportedly interested in negotiating a loan deal with Real Madrid for teenage prospect Arda Guler, in similar fashion to the eventual three-year loan deal they had for Brahim Diaz, according to updates on Tuesday afternoon.

The 18-year-old moved to Madrid in the summer for a fee of €20m, plus up to €10m in add-ons and a 20% sell-on clause for his former club Fenerbahce.

Milan were also willing to pay his release clause last summer, but certain issues arose, one of which was the (un)availability of a non-EU player slot in their squad.

As Milan have already been following Guler’s progress for over a year, the club remain interested and could be poised to propose a loan deal to Real Madrid in the summer.

As per Calciomercato, who cite outlets from Turkey, Guler could find himself even further down the pecking order at the Bernabeu next season if and when Madrid welcome the likes of Brazilian talent Endrick and PSG superstar Kylian Mbappe.

Milan would reportedly like to offer an initial season-long loan deal, but as was the case with Brahim Diaz, they could be interested in offering Guler a temporary home in San Siro for several seasons.

Brahim Diaz initially joined on a season-long loan from Real Madrid in the summer of 2020. Milan negotiated a new two-year loan deal the following summer, which also included an option to buy, but the player eventually returned to the Spanish capital and signed a new, long-term contract.
