Matteo Moretto confirms Manchester United are open to selling Mason Greenwood in the summer with Atletico Madrid and some Serie A clubs interested in the 22-year-old.

Football Italia transfer expert Matteo Moretto confirms Manchester United “would like to sell” English winger Greenwood in the summer. Currently on loan at Getafe, Greenwood is expected to return to Old Trafford at the end of the season, even if the La Liga side are trying to extend his stay beyond June.

“It will not be easy because there is a lot of competition for the 22-year-old,” Moretto told Caught Offside’s Daily Briefing adding that Getafe currently have a sell-on percentage of any future deal.

Serie A clubs and Atletico interested in Greenwood

Clubs interested in Greenwood, include Atletico Madrid and some Italian clubs. Other sources in Italy have claimed Greenwood is among Juventusmain targets for the 2024 summer transfer window and that Manchester United could sell the 22-year-old for circa €30m.

“From Greenwood’s perspective, at this stage, I don’t think he has expressed a preference for where he would like to play next season,” concluded Moretto.

Greenwood has 10 goals and six assists in 32 appearances with Getafe this season. His contract at Manchester United expires in June 2025.
