Paris Saint-Germain could be in the market for a midfielder after the announcement that newly arrived Gabriel Moscardo will need surgery and miss three months. A report surfaced that PSG was interested in Kalvin Phillips.

Phillips reportedly wants to leave Manchester City due to the lack of playing time. With UEFA Euro 2024 a few months away, the midfielder likely intends to solidify his role on the English national team.

However, don’t expect PSG to be in the mix for the 28-year-old. CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs  reports that the Ligue 1 giants have no interest in Phillips. As a result, it could leave Newcastle United the accessible path to secure him for the second half of this 2023-24 season.

Meanwhile, PSG will have to determine if they want to stand pat with their midfield and wait for Moscardo to return in three months for the season’s final stretch.

With the French giants currently in three competitions, it would be ideal for sporting advisor Luis Campos to add a midfielder to ensure the squad has enough depth to win all three trophies.
