The Metro have an interesting story today about a former Chelsea hero helping out a struggling Manchester United star.

Poor old Harry Maguire has had quite the fall from grace since Euro 2020. After the peaks of that tournament he now finds himself out of the picture at Manchester United, keen to find a new club but struggling to find a team to pay him the kind of money he’s used to.

This summer he’s not been resting on his laurels however – this report claims he’s been out at a personal preseason in Portugal, training three times a day with Chelsea icon Ricardo Carvalho.

This is described as a “desperate bid to save his Old Trafford career,” but also strikes us as just professional behaviour.

There can’t be much worse than turning up to a Premier League club’s preseason without being ready, and Maguire is just making sure that doesn’t happen.

We wonder if Carvalho would consider doing the same for some of our less fit superstars?
