Jermain Defoe finally ends goal drought with great strike (video)
After being beaten on a low cross from Gareth Bale to Clint Dempsey for the first Spurs goal, Vincent Kompany then got beat by a beautifully fluid cut n’ shoot from Jermain Defoe 4 minutes later.
This was Defoe’s first goal in 13 Tottenham matches (Prem and Europa), and marks the first Defoe goal for Spurs since the New Year.

Defoe out of action for three weeks
Tottenham striker Jermain Defoe has been ruled out for up to three weeks with ankle ligament damage.
The 30-year-old forward suffered the injury during the first half of Spurs' 1-0 win over West Brom .
It forced him to withdraw from the England squad for Wednesday's friendly with Brazil at Wembley.
He will now also miss Tottenham's Premier League match against Newcastle...

Defoe heads home after death of father
England striker Jermain Defoe has returned home following the death of his father.
The Football Association confirmed the news on Thursday morning, adding that the player is expected to return at some point and no replacement is being called up.
It is not known at this point whether Defoe will be back prior to Monday's Group D opener against France in Donetsk.
