Vandals have holes to fill after 2-10 season
A SEASON THAT STARTED WITH LOFTY EXPECTATIONS has mercifully come to an end. Saturday afternoon, on the road in Reno, the Vandals exemplified everything endured this season with in a 56-3 thrashing at the hands of the Wolf Pack. The focus now turns to recruiting to fill holes for 2012, building a line around redshirt freshman center MIKE MARBOE, and a shakeup in the coaching staff is likely.

Vandals head to Nevada to wrap up 2011
Junior tailback RYAN BASS and the Idaho Vandals will put a cap on what has been a disappointing 2011 season Saturday at Nevada. The Vandals (2-9 overall, 1-5 WAC) will try to beat the Wolf Pack (6-5, 4-2 WAC) for the first time since joining the WAC in 2005. It is the last chance for Idaho to do that since Nevada is heading to the Mountain West Conference next season.

IDAHO lost a frustrating game for the 10,461 fans and the coaches. The players were probably the most frustrated by a 16-14 loss on a last second field goal. The VANDAL defense played very well - they caused 5 fumbles and sacked the quarterback 6 times. One especially good play was a 3rd quarter, 70 yard fumble return by sophomore cornerback TRACY CARTER (Mesquite, TX) to take a 14-13 lead.

Vandal Victory, Part II
Now, let's switch over and look at the defensive side of the ball.As effective as the offense was, the defense was just as good. It was very encouraging. I think the d-line got a bunch of push, I thought we tackled much more effectively than in the past, mixed blitzes up to get pressure (succeeding, I might add) and kept Idaho off balance most of the game. Idaho also turned...
