U.S. Open champion Andy Murray has won his first-round match at the Australian Open, beating Robin Haase of the Netherlands 6-3, 6-1, 6-3 Tuesday.
Murray was dominant throughout his Rod Laver Arena match, his first at a major since beating Novak Djokovic in the U.S. Open final last year, ending a 76-year drought by a British man in Grand Slam singles.
The third-seeded Murray is in the same half of the draw with Roger Federer, and the two could meet in the semifinals.
Any Murray-Djokovic final at Melbourne Park could only be for the championship here on Jan 27.
