Gael Monfils had one of the better shots you will ever see in tennis today during his U.S. Open match against Alejandro Gonzalez. Gael nailed the forehand winner while in mid-air and somehow got a ridiculous amount of force behind it. Words really can’t do it justice, so enjoy the video thanks to Cork Gaines.

The French newspaper L’Equipe is reporting on its website that the right knee injury which prompted Frenchman Gael Monfils’ withdrawal from the Japan Open may endanger his career.
Monfils’ coach Patrick Chamagne told the paper: “If all turns wrong, it’s possible Gael played his last pro match. We have absolutely no idea if surgery will work or not.”
